Passive safety cooling water storage tank (referred as water storage tank) is an important equipment to the safety of a nuclear power plant. It is designed according to anti-seismic I standard. The water storage tank is installed on top of containment vessel, and it’s a part of the shielding building in Nuclear Island (see the bellowing picture A). Its internal wet wall is made up of stainless steel lining. The weld joint experiences the compression review and a leakage check passage is set.
The seismic margin analysis approved by NCR of the United States shows that the water tank on top of the shielding building can bear the 0.63g earthquake level acceleration peak value under 95% confidence coefficient and 95% non-damage.
